Aerial Lift

(2 day course with a maximum occupancy of 10 students)

  • Specific legislation as it applies to aerial lifts
  • Specific components and terminology
  • Safety devices
  • Center of gravity
  • Leverage
  • Load capacity ratings
  • Hazards associated with aerial lifts
  • Inspection procedures
  • Repairs and maintenance
  • Operating techniques including:
    • Planning the work areaTravel
    • Positioning the unit
    • Raising the platform
    • Working from a raised platform
    • Emergency procedures
    • Parking

Aerial Lift training is 16 hours in duration and begins with a classroom theory component that is followed by a written exam.  The remainder of the session includes practical training which gives the students an opportunity to practice newly acquired skills prior to completing a practical evaluation.
